Ja sam otkinuo djelove njegovog intervjua:

"Atletico Madrid are a strong team, athletically able. They won't be an easy opponent. I have studied Atletico, it has always been a nice club. My father was an Atletico fan. I have always liked them, but I have studied everything about them to beat them tomorrow night.

"Our condition? We have am extra week in our legs, but a lot will depend on the football. We all have the chance to make history for the club and win a trophy that Inter have never won. It's a great opportunity for us."

Diego Simeone has backed Atletico Madrid to win this evening's European Super Cup despite also being an Interista.

The 40-year-old played for both clubs during his career as a defensive midfielder and is now a successful Coach.

Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Simeone said: “I spent five years in Madrid. I spent two in Milan and it's perhaps for this reason that I am slightly on Atletico's side, even if I continue to feel like an Interista.

“The League title we won in Madrid is still unforgettable for everyone, but the UEFA Cup lifted in Paris with Inter came to be celebrated almost like a Champions League. That Inter should have won the Scudetto, without that cursed refereeing in the game against Juventus.”

When asked in which team he would like to play, Simeone said: “In the first half with Inter, alongside Cambiasso, to take the lead, then in the second half with Atletico in order to launch a come back. I'd always win like this.

“There is never a favourite in a Final. But Inter have armour because they are used to winning and they also have a great defence, which is it's strong point.”
